Tracking your SEO Efforts

Tracking your SEO Efforts

SEO is tough. More often than not, you will have to wait months or years until you finally see the fruits of your labor. Two things are important then: making sure you put your efforts in the right place, and tracking your performance.

You know what’s worse than having trouble ranking your new keywords you’re optimizing for?

Falling in rank with keywords you do rank for.

Ideally, you need to regularly check in on Google and see how your rankings change.

But how can you know that the fact that you are on your own website so often does not impact Google’s rankings, because obviously, that website seems to be relevant for you?

You could use incognito windows. The problem is, your IP address doesn’t change. So that still might not be your best option. Plus, that doesn’t remove the work of regularly checking the rankings.

Such a simple task should be automated.

Enter: Serprobot.

Serprobot as the name suggests is a Google SERP checker. It is a good tool that works even better for the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP). It is a simple keyword tracking tool. You simply select the keywords you want to track, and Serprobot will check up on them regularly so that you can monitor your performance over time. And take action when your rankings worsen.

*These are the paid once that is paid by the site owners and provides the easy way to jump the natural selection process that has become more prominent to the searcher. There are certain changes for every click that the advertiser receives and the site willing to pay the most as per the clicks will be ranked higher in position.

*Serprobot has multiple factors to be able to generate the most accurate results. These factors include but are not limited to the number of searches you are doing like keywords, original body content, etc.

  6. Multi-keyword Support

You can also see the rankings of a specific page on your website by checking the “Use URL” box, and can even see how your competitors are doing for a particular keyword you want to rank for. By default, the tool offers you five fields to input keywords, but you can always add more if you want to.

They still offer a 14-day free trial, which is more than enough time to check out the tool and see if you like it, but you’ll have to pay a monthly subscription after that. The price starts at $4.99 per month for one Bot, which can perform up to 300 searches per day. Not cheap, but cheaper than other options (at least from my experience).

Now, if you’re like me, you’re not a big fan of SEO.

Well, let me phrase that differently.

You are not a big fan of the tedious parts of SEO. The results on the other hand it’s hard not being a fan of.

A big part of SEO is of course the backlink work. Since backlinks are one (if not the) major factor for Google to determine how relevant your content is.

Typically, you will be using SEO tools to find out what backlinks your competitors have so that you can steal them and rank your own content higher. But let’s be honest, backlink-building is tedious, you have to fight for every single link. Wouldn’t it be nice to just write content and it magically rises to the top?

It does sound too good to be true, but here’s a nice trick to find out niches where you can actually rank without backlinks. Head over to Ahrefs and search for articles in your niche which rank and get a lot of traffic, while having 0 backlinks. It won’t be easy to find them, but they’re out there.
