The best Keyboard Shortcuts to Boost Productivity

In order to work efficiently, you need to become comfortable with keyboard shortcuts. The amount of time you save instead of clicking around with your mouse is incredible. In this email I have listed some of my favorite keyboard shortcuts. Some you will already know, some I bet are new to you.

CTRL+C // CTRL+V

This one you have very likely already seen and use it yourself. With CTRL+C you can copy highlighted text, and with CTRL+V you can paste it. This is likely the keyboard shortcut you will use the most.

However, there is one (in my opinion) better way to paste text from your clipboard.

CTRL+SHIFT+V

What this shortcut does is it pastes your text without formatting. If you want to paste a number into your spreadsheet for example, you always have to face weird formatting issues. Never again! A lot of pasting problems you have goes away with this shortcut – highly recommended! I never use CTRL+V anymore once I found this one.

WINDOWS KEY+LEFT / RIGHT

Moves your window to the left and right in your monitor, so you can work with two windows side-by-side.

WINDOWS KEY+SHIFT+LEFT / RIGHT

Moves your window to another monitor if you work with more than one.

WINDOWS KEY+L

Locks your screen. Never keep your computer unlocked anymore!

WINDOWS KEY+SHIFT+S

Allows you to take a screenshot of an area you specify quickly and easily. A little bit faster than Snipping Tool, but with a bit less functionality.

CTRL+F

Finds text you specify on the page. Super useful – you’ll need it more than you think!

CTRL+Z

Use this shortcut for undoing something.

CTRL+Y

Use this shortcut for redoing something.

I hope you found some useful shortcuts in this quick list! Remember – yes you only save a few clicks and seconds every time you use one of these. But that adds up!
